Sustainable Wedding Alliance

What is the Sustainable Wedding Alliance?

Experience of working with couples, like you, directly means that we know that you wish you had a greater choice when it comes to sustainable, and ethical wedding venues and suppliers.  As responsible business owners,  the members of the Sustainable Wedding Alliance are focussed on making both their businesses and the events and weddings they are involved in, more sustainable.

Did you know that the average carbon footprint of a wedding in the UK is more than the average annual household footprint?

Each year, there are approx. 278,599 weddings in UK. We know that the average wedding emits 14,500 kgCO2eq* (or 14.5 tons CO2e), at least half of which could be reduced by making sensible, considered choices.

Imagine, if we could reduce all wedding emissions by half…  that’s a potential saving of over 2 million tons of CO2e that’s the equivalent to taking 2,666,460 medium sized cars off the road for a year! Remaining emissions could then be offset, which, based on the average wedding, and the type of offset chosen, would be in the region of £500-£700. Have you thought about how you could make your wedding more environmentally friendly?
